Since my trip to Canada many years ago, I’ve been saying that I’ve lost my travel lust. And that’s true – I really haven’t felt like going anywhere. Especially after I got the cabin. But at the same time, every time somebody brings up the topic of travelling, I join in and say that I would like to visit Iceland and New Zealand and I wouldn’t mind doing a road trip in the USA, or maybe take the road less travelled and go to Greenland. And one thing that has been playing in my mind for many years is doing a photography workshop. You know, travelling in a small group with a photographer guide so you get the see the best places and learn a thing or two about photography while at it.
Not sure if my accident last weekend has anything to do with this. It wasn’t any near death experience that normally makes you re-evaluate your life… but maybe it was a small spark. And at work, we talked about travelling again because one of my colleagues was planning their vacation. I suddenly got an urge to do something drastic. Really splash out. And the idea took shape… how about a workshop in Iceland?
So now I’m thinking. And reading. The question in the end is… if I want to see all those places, what am I waiting for? I’m not getting any younger. We should do things while we still can!
