Old abandoned houses are quite normal around here. Sometimes I wonder what the story is… like today, when I visited the old cabin on the other side of the lake. The lake in Föne is over twice as long as it is wide, the long side being in the east-west axis. The main road thru Föne runs on the north side, so you also find all the houses there. On the south side, there’s only a very bad two-track road that’s not always even good enough for cycling in the summer (depends on the water level, the road floods easily). But from this south side road, there’s an even smaller road that goes up the hill to an old house. The side road is so overgrown that I didn’t even see it until the second or third time when I walked around the lake, it’s easier to spot now in the winter though.
Anyway. I’m curious. Why did somebody build a house on the ”wrong” side of the lake?
