Last night’s sunset was one of the best ones I’ve seen in a long time. I’ve been living here for three months now, and I still get a kick every time I see the sunset from the kitchen window. Now that it was a good one, I stepped out on the deck and took a few shots. Granted, the foreground… doesn’t really exist, but that’s not my point here. The point here is that I can see the sunset at all. Back in the house where I lived in Loos, I only had a half a chance of seeing either the sunrise or sunset in the dead of winter and that only on weekends, obviously. But now I’ve seen the sunset since I moved here, and I would probably also be able to see the sunrise if I bothered to get up early enough. Which I don’t.

But winter will be another matter.. there’s a mountain south from the house and sunrise will be impossible to see and sunset might be marginally possible. Heck, I’ll be lucky if my house catches any sunlight at all in the winter as the sun probably don’t get high enough to reach out over that mountain…
