This is when the best time of the winter starts. The days are longer, the trails are better, and on a sunny day there’s nothing that beats a day out on the mountains. Theoretically anyway. It was half cloudy today with a bit of snow in the air and the trail from Hållan to Malmbäckstugan is so exposed to wind that the snow barely covered the ground in some places. The locals tell me that there is less snow now overall than there normally is at this time of the year. But for me, coming from the low lands, this is ten times better than the recent winters in Hälsingland. So I’m not complaining!
