Painting

”There will be time for a hike”, I said. Ha. Ha. Ha. Either I was enormously optimistic or enormously naive, because I found out that painting windows is a full time job. I spent 11 hours on them today, and by the time I was finished, it was almost 9pm and I was starving. Going on a hike was the furthest thing on my mind! It was great weather though, and when I realised that I didn’t have a chance of doing a hike, I settled with feeling lucky that it was a great day to paint – at least I was outdoors all day! And no mosquitoes either, so the mozzies I met at the lake last night haven’t made their way up to the cabin yet. And I hope they won’t, not until Monday anyway.

So now I have the primer on all windows and doors, and I need to finish the first coat of paint this weekend. It looks like it will rain tomorrow afternoon so the pressure is on. No time for a long breakfast like I did today (big mistake, as I soon found out)!

And then there’s the bargeboards. Zero chance of having time for them this weekend, and honestly, I really don’t want to do them either, especially the boards at front and back which are much higher off the ground than the sides. I don’t suffer from vertigo but the thought of balancing on a high ladder with a paintbucket… just the thought makes me nervous!

Today’s picture is the ”before”. It’s the only picture I took all day, there really wasn’t any time!
