Fabulous aurora tonight again, visible despite the light of the full moon. I wish I’d been at a better spot but as it so often happens, I was in a hurry so all I could do was to shoot from field close to home. In fact, I had all but given up and was actually already walking back when I had a last minute idea to do focus bracketing to get some idea of the focus issue on the Tokina wideangle. As I was shooting those frames, the aurora flared up and although it wasn’t particularly bright, it was sending these flares high up in the sky. After the flares, the aurora quieted down again.

As for the focusing, all my frames were sharp! On the other hand, it wasn’t very cold tonight (only -2°C).

I just wish we had more snow. There’s a little bit on the ground but nothing in the trees, very boring.
