Frosty

I went skiing yesterday, and paid the price today. My muscles are aching… too fast, too soon. So I was not in the mood to ski today, but I wanted to do something fun anyway, and ended up walking up to Kariknallen. It’s pretty icy up there, so walking was actually easier than skiing. The snow is fine in the forest (there is a lot more snow in Bruksvallarna and Ramundberget than in Ljusnedal!) so I’ll try skiing tomorrow again, if my sore thighs agree.

But as it was, it was a good day out. When I got out from the forest, I found that the lonely trees on the tundra were frosty, which created a very monotone landscape against the overcast sky. So in the end, it was better than I had expected and for the hundredth time, I was overjoyed when looking over this frozen scenery and knowing that I’m not here just for a vacation like those people I spoke with at Kariknallen – this is my home!
