I drove to the crane location again and found one bird in the nest, so all is fine and well! I have to visit the place daily, because the chicks can hatch any day now.

There was a couple of common greenshanks standing on some mounds which may or may not be nests, and in the water I saw two pairs of tufted ducks and one pair of eurasian wigeons. But, the story is all about the cranes, see you tomorrow!
