Coordination

I’m really happy how all the training is producing results. I’m stronger, have more endurance, better balance and even my coordination has improved. A little. I fell three times today, twice before I even got in my car. In my defense, it’s very icy right now, after two days of raining. It finally froze last night, and it’s been snowing steadily, so you can’t see the ice. So I had skis and poles in my arms and was going to pack them in the car, when my feet just glided from under me and I hit the ground. I got a big bruise on my thigh but what’s important, no scratches on the car despite all the long and sharp gear I was holding.

Then I needed to brush the snow off the car and I took it really really carefully, knowing that the car is surrounded by ice. And what do you know, I slipped and found myself sitting in the snow again. And then when I finally drove off, the car was gliding around because not even my 4-wheel drive could get hold on the hard ice covered with fluffy snow. Needless to say that I drove very carefully after that…

I drove to Fjällnäs to ski one of my favourite tracks. I fell again in the first hill, I lost grip and my knee dropped on the ski, which meant that I started gliding backwards instead of just stopping there if my knee had hit the snow. Thankfully, no witnesses.

So yeah, don’t I feel good about my improved balance and coordination now…

A lot more snow in Fjällnäs than we have in Ljusnedal
