The landscape looked really nice in the morning with a generous layer of new snow. At the same time, the temperature was already at zero so the niceness was about to melt, which meant that I needed to hurry so I rushed out with the camera as soon as there was enough light to take a few frames.

In the afternoon when I did a longer walk the decoration was all but gone. When I walked through the forest it was raining – not from the sky but from the trees.

I did the walk in my ski boots with my hiking boots in the backpack in case I would run into problems. I’m happy to report that the little trip the boots made to the shoemaker has paid off – I didn’t feel them chafing at all. Or well, the left boot was chafing ever so little but not in the same spot where I got the blister. But afterwards, I can’t see it left any mark on my skin so I’m not worried about it, a little bit of protective tape should fix it. Which means, I’ll be back on the skis tomorrow! Well, provided that the snow doesn’t melt tonight. Forecast says it will rain.
