We have plenty of snow (as seen in the first picture) but it doesn’t help, the landscape is hopeless for any meaningful photography. I prefer my winter trees covered with snow, but the hard wind and above freezing temperatures have done their work and the snow cover in the forests in particular is in a really bad shape. And skiing on the snowmobile trails is impossible, the trails are icy and I can just hear my skis getting worn out on that surface.

Thus, a visit to the zoo then. I think Canon service really did something about the autofocus on the 7D2 because I am sure that the camera is focusing better now… I was using the outlying focus points and the focus snapped quickly on the musk ox eye. The last time (before the service) in the zoo I had real trouble using the outer points and I remember being surprised that it didn’t work better than that. Or maybe I’m just imagining it.

It was a very quiet day in the zoo again, but the musk oxen gave us a moment of shooting frenzy when they started butting heads. Not in that high speed, running into each kind of way, but gently nudging each other. Always something.
