It would’ve been the best aurora I have ever seen. I knew that the aurora would put on a good display tonight, but I also knew that the weather forecast said that it would get cloudy. So I waited nervously until it got dark enough and started shooting, there was no doubt that something was going on in the sky. All the while the aurora was getting better, the cloud cover was getting thicker. If I can say anything good about the clouds,  then it’s that they reflected the light from the aurora. And this is where the eye of the camera proves far superior to the human eyes – the show didn’t look nearly as good live as it does here in the picture with the whole sky in green fire!

It could’ve been so good… and it almost was.
