For the past three evenings I’ve been trying to get my sights on the comet Pan-STARRS without any success. The first evening I was probably looking a little bit in the wrong place, the second evening I was probably out too late and yesterday when my timing and place where right, I couldn’t see it anyway. There was just a teeny weeny bit of clouds in the horizon but I guess it was enough to obscure the comet, or my small binoculars weren’t strong enough to see it. Not sure if I get any more chances because the long sunny period seems to be coming to an end now, but I’ll try again if the clouds part.

But with these clear skies, one thing that I had no trouble spotting was the crescent moon. I have been wanting to shoot a crescent for ages and ages but never done it, for whatever reason. But now I did, two evenings in a row. Nothing spectacular, but now I at least have the crescent and the next chance I get, I can be a bit more ambitious.
