Go, no go

Well, guess what. Here I am again. Exhausted. And now it’s worse than ever before, I’ve had this weird thing all week. On Monday I was really tired, I mean more tired than after Njupeskär. Then on Tuesday, I felt an itch in my throat, which normally always means that I’m going to have a cold. But otherwise I was ok, so I went on what was supposed to be a small walk on Tuesday evening, but what turned out to be a hike up to the old mines in Ramundberget. I had no problems with it though, but I didn’t feel good on Wednesday, and yesterday it got way worse, I had a runny nose besides feeling incredibly tired again. But I didn’t have any other symptoms that I normally have when I have a cold, so maybe it was just a prolonged allergic reaction… which I’ve never had either. So I took pain killers and anti-histamin but neither made a dent in whatever it was I was suffering from. Which led me to the conclusion that I am suffering from over-exercise again, which makes no sense because apart from Tuesday, I haven’t done anything heavy since last week’s Rödsjövålen trip.

So… it must be food. I didn’t eat enough coming back from Rödsjövålen, I didn’t eat enough in the following days, I didn’t eat enough after (and before and during) Tuesday’s hike, and finally my body ran out of fuel. Again. Again. Again.

If it isn’t what I eat (it’s not drinking because I’m better at that, now), then there’s something wrong with my body in general when it can’t handle these trips which in the past didn’t give me any problems. Last year I needed a mega-trip like Skarsfjället before I suffered any consequences. But now I’m run down after something which is only a fraction of Skarsfjället.

The thing is, I have a day off today and I was going to do a 3-day hike and finally see Pyramiderna. Needless to say that it’s out of the question now. Yesterday I still hoped that I would get a miracle overnight, and after 10 hours of sleep (10 hours! A normally fit person does not need to sleep for 10 hours!), I feel better but there are no miracles.

It’s a no-go.
