My favourite track has been prepared for weeks and I didn’t know it! I should’ve just scouted it myself instead of looking at the track status on the web, I don’t know why they don’t mark it as prepared but nevermind now, I know it’s done and it’s all good! So up to Ånnfjället I skied today, and it was as nice as I could ever have wished for.
You have no idea how much I’ve been wanting to get up on a mountain. Just to see those wide open white spaces… I think I’m a little bit addicted to the tundra. But as far as addictions go, I think it’s a good one. 😉
I had my new Samyang 14/2.8 lens in the pack. I’ve only used it once so far, the same day when I got it, shooting aurora. There hasn’t been any wide angle opportunities since then! I was especially curious about how it performs with sunbursts and I finally had a chance to test it. I would say it’s good, there’s some flare of course, and considering that I was shooting the sun when it was low in the horizon with a bit of clouds around it, I think I can expect even better bursts with a sun higher in the sky without those pesky clouds.
What a wonderful Christmas Eve it turned out to be. I think there’s nothing sadder than a lonely person ”celebrating” Christmas so I don’t even try, but today I got invited to a Christmas dinner and it makes a huge difference. 🙂 After dinner, I went for a walk (because 20 km skiing was apparently not enough exercise for the day) to light a candle for mom. Walking back home, I was thinking about was how much I love winter days like this. A few degrees minus, warm clothes, a bit of snow in the air, the world reduced to the glow of my head lamp… the people who don’t like winter, they have never experienced this I’m sure!
