I counted my ”60 toppar” peaks the other day and found to my astonishment that I already have 31 of them! And as of today, 32. I drove to Vauldalen just across the border and hiked to Gruvsjöfjället. It was a very easy hike because you can follow a road/quad trail almost to the top, and the altitude kind of sneaks up on you as there are almost no steep parts at all.
Once on top, I got a bit worried though – it was raining in the north, it was raining in the north-west and it was raining in the south. It seemed to be sunny in Sweden… I just had to go abroad today, right? 😀 I had some rain gear with me but it doesn’t mean that I want to get rained on, so I didn’t spend much time up there. Which is a pity, because it was a nice place and worth exploring. However, rain or not, the light wasn’t good so I should come back here another time.
I was sure that I wouldn’t be able to dodge all three rain fronts, but as it turned out, I did. I got a few drops on me but calling it a rain would be flattering it. So instead of landscape shooting, I kept my eye on the dwarf cornel which was growing in huge numbers. It’s one of my favourite flowers so I’m always happy to see it, even when it is a little bit past its prime as it was here.
It’s been a very nice extended weekend and I wish I could extend it more… I think they call it vacation? I should have some of that!
