Etive Mor

The weather wasn’t good enough to bother for a morning shoot, so we had a sleep-in and ate breakfast at the hotel, then started driving towards Glencoe. By the time we reached it, it was raining – pouring. And windy. We drove to Glen Etive and the others seemed to be inspired to shoot despite the conditions, but I really didn’t bother. So I sat in the car for two hours… not very good but I had decided before the trip that I will not force myself to shoot when I’m not inspired and I will not be disappointed if I don’t get pictures from some location. Unlike in Iceland where my expectations were set on the wrong level and I got more and more desperate each day I wasn’t producing those killer pictures I had envisioned before the trip. This is a vacation, there shouldn’t be any ”must’s”!

We made our last stand at the famous Etive Mor location with the waterfalls in the foreground. There’s plenty of water now, after all the raining, and when the raining finally subsided for a few minutes, I took out my camera and got a few shots. So I got something done on this day anyway, and I’m still not regretting sitting in the car in the previous location! There’s another rainy day tomorrow, and it’s the last day here, so I will make more of an effort then.
