I’ll start with the big news – I will move in the summer. I will leave the lowlands behind me and relocate to Ljusnedal, which is a small village close to Funäsdalen. I checked out a flat today, or rather, the second floor of a house. It is all kinds of brilliant… light and roomy, with the river flowing behind the house and mountain views from the windows. I am in a privileged situation that I can do my job anywhere as long as there’s a network connection, so the only question is why I haven’t done this move years ago. For a long time I’ve said that I’m going to the office only because it’s more social than working at home, but lately I’ve come to wonder how social it really is. Everybody in the office have their own things to do, nobody has time to talk, and even if they did… let’s face it, I don’t have anything in common with them. It’s not worth being unhappy with my life, stuck in a place where I no longer want to be.
There’s a bigger background story to this decision but I have to keep some things offline. Suffice to say, there was a problem and I found a solution. Life starts now!
But yes, I did some skiing today as well. It was more of a scouting trip and it paid off, I found a good spot which I have to come back to in evening light. But not today, I have to spare my energy for tomorrow’s big trip. That’s the problem with staying here for only a few days, there’s not enough time and energy to do everything I want to do! Oh how much I’m looking forward to moving here… when the time span is not counted in days, but in months!
And, should anyone be interested, my cabin will be available for rent for a nominal sum. I will not need the cabin when I’m living in the region, so now I have to wait and see if I will stay here for a longer time, in which case I can sell the cabin.
