It’s embarrassing to be caught out by the snow and ice. But I was determined not to change to winter tires too soon so I held out, despite the snowfall that was forecast. It looked like the snow would come and go like it did last Saturday and it wasn’t going to get cold in the foreseeable future, but on Monday the forecast suddenly changed – it would snow more, and it would get really cold. I was able to get a time for the tire change for this afternoon, the only problem was that it rained a lot yesterday, and the rain turned to snow as the temperature dipped below zero. The forest looked really nice in the morning, but how was I going to get myself to Ljusdal when the road was covered in ice?!
My only chance was to wait until the afternoon and hope that the road would thaw out. And it did… I made it to Ljusdal safely and now I have winter tires, let the winter come!
