The English name for the flower isn’t that nice… wood cow-wheat. But in Swedish, we have several names for it, from the matter-of-fact ”lundkovall” to more descriptive names like ”natt och dag” (night and day) and my favourite, ”svenska flaggan” (flag of Sweden). And it’s the last name that makes today’s encounter with this flower a bit curious. You see, this is the first time I’ve found the ”flag of Sweden” flower in Sweden. All my other encounters were in Finland!
