This is a back-dated post – we had a thunderstorm going around Föne from about 3pm to 9pm so I didn’t dare to keep my computer plugged in while it was going on (the storm was never really right on us though, we only got 3mm rain). And after I thought it was safe, I started the computer and started processing my pictures, when the power went out for a couple of seconds. Enough to kill the stationary computer and Lightroom wasn’t at all happy afterwards, I had to ditch all my 5.5 GB of preview pictures to get LR working again. So I didn’t want to risk another outage and thus shut down the machine nicely and therefore the backdated post…
Anyway, with the tricky weather going on for half the day, I did my shooting before lunch. The white waterlilies are still captivating me and even after this much white waterlily shooting this summer, I would like to do more. Maybe I should save the ideas for next summer.
The passing weather front gave a nice sunset so I used the 300mm lens to get close to it. It allowed me to shoot from the house and leave out the distractions, and it’s actually the first time I’ve included the sun like this. It blows out, of course, but I think it’s ok. Sort of. Still thinking.
And by the way, all of today’s pictures are shot with 300mm. A versatile lens – normally you would use a telephoto lens on animals!
