I thought the white waterlily buds by the jetty would be in bloom now, but I found them all closed. In fact, all around the lake, all white waterlilies were closed. Very strange. So I did some research and found that white waterlilies close themselves at 5pm, not sure about the accuracy but apparently Carl von Linné had an idea for a ”flower clock” and in one version of the clock that I found, the white waterlily indicated 5pm (if it was 5pm back then, it probably means 6pm daylight saving time?). I was trying to shoot them after 6pm, because the spot is in the shade until then. Need to test this theory and go to the spot right after work tomorrow!
