As mentioned yesterday, I got down to Mon and finally explored the island that was no longer an island. It wasn’t actually that exciting, just the same as elsewhere in Mon, but it has bothered me quite enormously that I haven’t been able to visit the place. Especially because I’ve seen from the mainland side that there’s a barn on the island and I have this obsession about old barns… in particular, the ones in Mon. I kind of want to ”collect” all of them. But now I got that barn and as a bonus, I found another one in the forest. The forest by the way surprised me a little bit, it’s not very big obviously but it’s also been spared from forestry. All they’ve done here is to gather the grass and stored it in the barns, but considering how fallen they are… what do you think, at least 50 or maybe a 100 years since they were used? How many decades does it take for a barn to fall apart like that?
I also explored the shoreline but I couldn’t really find anything to shoot, it seems like I left all the good opportunities on the other side yesterday. It would have been only a 50 meters by boat, but about 15 km by land (well, and a bridge). So close but so far away!
