Unusually, I’m waiting until Tuesday to write about something that happened last weekend…
Although there’s almost no point in going to the cabin on Saturday and coming back on Sunday, I did it anyway. I had a few small things I had to take care of and even I didn’t have the luxury of time, I was quite happy to sit down on my couch and enjoy the fact that the cabin has turned out so nice, after all the headache and heartache it gave me during that awful time when it was being built. Time heals all wounds, and so does walking in snow on the tundra. A bit more of the white stuff and they will start preparing the snowmobile trails and skiing tracks and I hope that I have a chance to get up there this Christmas!
The larger lakes are not completely iced over yet, and there was some open water running in the brooks as well. I followed up one of my favourites but the further up on the mountain you get, the more snow and ice there is and so it was pointless to go all the way up to the tundra where the brook began.
In the lowlands, the snow has come and gone. At the moment I just have a small pile left of it and I’m eagerly awaiting some more so I can start exploring the winter wonderland around Föne!
