The Ljusdal camera club did an excursion to the Hamra national park today. I was kinda in a desperate need to get there so when we started talking about an excursion, I made sure to paint a glorious picture of the park so I could persuade the other members that my idea was the best… I had promised to show them my ”secret” location by the Svartån creek. Well it’s not so secret any more since they expanded the national park, but not many people visit the place anyway.
It was raining while we were there, but I was happy to see that the people were snapping away regardless so they seemed to like the place. My own camera stayed in the pack, because I already have enough pictures from here and my main object was the waterfalls downstream that I’ve tried to shoot on two previous occasions but always botched the timing. Today it was perfect – it stopped raining when we got to the location and it stayed overcast, even if for a brief moment the sun briefly showed itself through the clouds when I was setting up my tripod for the first time.
I was a little bit surprised to find that the group was still keen on checking out another location, so we drove to the Svartåmyran mire as the people were interested in seeing the viewing tower. All in a all, a good trip. I was a little bit bummed last week that I had to do all my treks alone (mostly I felt sorry for other photogs for missing out on the glorious landscape) so it was good to have some company this time!
